Challenge
China Airlines, the largest airline in Taiwan with a fleet of 91 aircraft as of 2023, needed to connect its engineering and maintenance systems and data into one integrated solution to improve reliability and control costs.
Solution
Over a partnership of more than ten years, the airline has used IFS as an integrated ERP for its engineering and maintenance operations, covering data gathering, mobility, and preventative maintenance.
Results
The airline reports a 65% reduction in multi-crew job card waiting time in heavy maintenance, 10% gains in both line management process efficiency and heavy maintenance manpower efficiency, a 3% increase in A Checks delivery efficiency, and an average of 30 and 25 additional revenue days per year from reduced scheduled and unscheduled maintenance respectively.
