Cookie Policy
Last updated: February 23, 2026
This Cookie Policy explains what cookies and similar technologies the ERP Research website at www.erpresearch.com (the "Site") uses, why we use them, and how you can control them.
1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device by a website. They are widely used to make websites work efficiently, remember your preferences, and provide information to the site operators. Some cookies are "first-party" (set by the website you are visiting) and others are "third-party" (set by an external service used on the site).
2. How We Use Cookies
We use cookies for three purposes:
- Essential / Functional — required for the Site to operate correctly (e.g., session authentication, geographic content delivery).
- Analytics — help us understand how visitors use the Site so we can improve it. These are only activated after you consent via our cookie banner.
- Preferences — remember choices you have made (e.g., A/B experiment assignments) to provide a consistent experience.
3. Cookies We Set
The following first-party cookies are used on our Site:
| Cookie | Type | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
erp_cookie_consent | Essential | Stores your cookie consent preference (accepted or rejected). Required for us to remember your choice. | 1 year |
erp_vid | Functional | A randomly generated unique identifier (UUID) used to recognize returning visitors, attribute form submissions, and prevent spam. It does not contain any personal information. | 1 year |
erp_geo | Functional | Stores your country code (e.g., "US," "GB") derived from your IP address. Used to deliver region-appropriate content and features. Your full IP address is not stored. | 24 hours |
erp_ab | Preferences | Stores A/B experiment variant assignments so you see a consistent version of the Site during your visit. Current experiments include chatbot display timing, greeting copy, and call-to-action wording. | 30 days |
erp_benchmark_token | Essential | A secure session token set after you purchase benchmark data access. Used to authenticate your access to premium features. This cookie is httpOnly and cannot be read by client-side scripts. | 30 days |
4. Third-Party Cookies
Google Analytics 4
We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand how visitors interact with our Site. GA4 may set its own cookies (e.g., _ga, _ga_*) to distinguish users and throttle request rates.
Google Analytics cookies are only activated after you accept cookies through our consent banner. If you reject cookies, GA4 does not collect any data about your visit.
Google's privacy policy is available at policies.google.com/privacy. You can also opt out of Google Analytics across all websites using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
Stripe
When you make a payment, you are redirected to Stripe's checkout page. Stripe may set cookies on its own domain for fraud prevention and payment processing. These cookies are governed by Stripe's Privacy Policy.
5. Local Storage
In addition to cookies, we use your browser's local storage to remember certain preferences on the client side:
- Your name and email — if you have previously submitted a form, we store your name and email in local storage so forms can be pre-filled on return visits. This data stays in your browser and is not sent to our servers until you submit a form again.
- Feature interaction flags — we store flags indicating whether you have already interacted with certain features (e.g., chatbot, exit-intent popup, resource gates) so they are not shown repeatedly.
You can clear local storage at any time through your browser settings.
6. Managing Cookies
You can control cookies in several ways:
- Our cookie banner — when you first visit the Site, you can accept or reject non-essential cookies. Your choice is stored in the
erp_cookie_consentcookie. - Change your preference — you can reset your consent choice at any time by clearing the
erp_cookie_consentcookie from your browser. On your next visit, the consent banner will appear again. - Browser settings — most browsers let you block or delete cookies. See your browser's help documentation for instructions. Note that blocking essential cookies may affect Site functionality.
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. We will post the updated policy on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
