Best eCommerce Integrations for Dynamics 365

Updated July 2026 · By the ERP Research Editorial Team · Independent and vendor-neutral — no vendor pays for placement or ranking.

eCommerce integrations for Dynamics 365 synchronise products, pricing, stock and customers from Dynamics to an online store and orders back into it. Microsoft sells Dynamics 365 Commerce for retail-scale operations, but most mid-market Dynamics users run a separate storefront — commonly Shopify or Magento — and need an integration layer or a purpose-built B2B commerce platform.

Two quite different products get compared in this category, and separating them saves a lot of wasted evaluation. Purpose-built commerce platforms for Dynamics provide the storefront and the integration together, usually with B2B features — customer-specific pricing, credit status, order history — designed for account customers. Integration platforms connect a storefront you have already chosen, giving flexibility at the cost of building commerce logic yourself.

Most Dynamics customers reaching this page are distributors or manufacturers selling to trade accounts rather than consumers, which tilts the answer. Customer-specific price lists and credit limits living in Dynamics have to reach the storefront accurately, and consumer-oriented connectors assuming list pricing and guest checkout handle that badly.

What about Dynamics 365 Commerce?

Dynamics 365 Commerce is Microsoft's full omnichannel retail product — ecommerce storefront, point of sale, clienteling and merchandising — built for retailers running stores and online together on Finance & Operations. It is a substantial product with implementation weight to match, and for a retail chain it is the natural choice. It is disproportionate for a distributor wanting a trade portal on top of Business Central, which is why the integration and B2B commerce vendors below exist. Business Central has no native storefront at all, so BC customers are always integrating something.

How to choose Dynamics 365 ecommerce integration

  1. 1

Write down your requirements before any demo

List the specific eCommerce connectors outcomes you need — volumes, workflows, countries, systems in the loop — and rank them. Vendor demos are optimised to reframe your requirements around their strengths; a written list keeps the evaluation yours.

  2. 2

Verify Dynamics 365 integration depth, not existence

Every vendor here “integrates with Dynamics 365” — the differences are in depth. Ask each to demo the integration against a realistic Dynamics 365 configuration: your entity structure, your fields, your transaction volumes, and what happens when a sync fails.

  3. 3

    Check certification and marketplace status

Look for Microsoft AppSource listing / ISV certification and a current listing on Microsoft AppSource. Certification doesn't guarantee fit, but it confirms the vendor keeps pace with Dynamics 365 releases — uncertified integrations are where upgrade breakage concentrates.

  4. 4

Reference-check companies that look like yours

Ask for two reference customers on Dynamics 365 at your size and in your industry, and ask them what broke in the first year. Implementation quality varies more than product quality in the eCommerce connectors category.

  5. 5

Model total cost over three years

Compare subscription plus implementation plus internal effort — not headline price. Dynamics 365 ecommerce integration pricing models differ (per user, per volume, per entity), so normalise every quote to your actual usage before comparing.

Frequently asked questions

Dynamics 365 Commerce or a third-party storefront?

Commerce fits retailers running physical stores and online channels together on F&O, where unified POS, inventory and merchandising justify the implementation. For a distributor or manufacturer wanting a B2B trade portal — especially on Business Central — it is oversized, and a purpose-built B2B commerce platform or a Shopify-plus-connector approach will be live far sooner at a fraction of the cost.

What has to synchronise for B2B commerce?

Products, stock availability, customer-specific price lists, customer accounts and credit status flow from Dynamics to the store; orders and sometimes payments flow back. Customer-specific pricing is the make-or-break element — a trade customer who sees list pricing rather than their negotiated rate will simply phone the order in, which defeats the entire purpose of the portal.

How real-time does stock need to be?

More real-time than most implementations initially deliver. Overselling generates precisely the customer service problem the portal was meant to reduce. Ask what synchronisation frequency the vendor achieves in production at your order volume, and whether availability is checked live at checkout or served from a cached figure — the difference becomes visible on your busiest trading day.
