Overview
ClockShark is a mobile-first time tracking, scheduling and job costing platform built for construction and field service businesses. Field employees clock in and out from a phone with GPS and geofencing, select the job and task they are working on, and managers get real-time visibility into who is working, where, and on what job through a "Who's Working Now" map view. The company started as a family-run trade business in Chico, California, and now reports serving over 9,500 companies and 100,000 construction and field service professionals.
The platform's core loop is turning field time data into job costs and payroll-ready timesheets: employees clock time against specific customers, jobs and tasks; managers build and publish crew schedules with a drag-and-drop scheduler; and administrators pull real-time labor-cost and job detail reports before exporting verified timesheets into accounting or payroll systems. Geofencing can prompt employees to clock in or out automatically when entering or leaving a jobsite boundary and flags out-of-bounds clock-ins for review. An offline mode queues time entries in a "Sync Queue" on the device when there is no signal, syncing once connectivity returns.
ClockShark is part of Simpro Group, alongside sibling field-service and trade-business platforms Simpro, BigChange and AroFlo. It targets small to mid-sized trade and field service businesses -- electrical, plumbing, roofing, painting, cleaning, landscaping, healthcare and real estate/facility management companies -- rather than large enterprises, and connects to popular small-business accounting and payroll systems rather than tier-1 ERPs.

Strengths & considerations
Strengths
- Purpose-built for construction and field service crews with job/task-level time and cost tracking, rather than generic office time tracking
- Native geofencing with automatic clock-in/out prompts and out-of-bounds alerts, not just passive GPS pings
- Offline time tracking that queues punches on the device and syncs once connectivity returns, aimed at crews in low-signal jobsites
- Integrates directly with construction-specific accounting (Sage 100 Contractor) as well as mainstream small-business accounting (QuickBooks, Xero, MYOB) and multiple payroll processors (ADP, Paychex, Gusto, Paylocity)
