Overview
ARIS Process Mining is the process-mining and conformance-checking module of the ARIS Process Intelligence Platform, built by SAG ARIS GmbH — formerly the ARIS business unit of Software AG, which Software AG announced it would spin off into an independent company in 2025. It reads event-log and transactional data from ERP and other enterprise systems, chiefly SAP (both ECC and S/4HANA), Oracle, Salesforce, Microsoft and ServiceNow, to automatically reconstruct how processes actually execute without manual process interviews.
The product combines automated process discovery, conformance checking against approved process designs, cycle-time and bottleneck analysis with root-cause drill-down, process simulation, and object-centric process mining (OCPM) that follows interactions across multiple entities and systems rather than single linear cases. It is sold alongside ARIS's BPM/process-governance tooling ("Process Core") and an agentic-AI layer that identifies automation candidates from mined process data — the vendor positions the combination of mining, governance and AI on one platform as its main differentiator versus standalone process-mining tools.
ARIS reports customers including Rolls-Royce, Siemens, Volkswagen, Philips, Tesco, Standard Bank, Nationwide, SEB and Alicorp, spanning banking, manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, retail and the public sector. It has been named a Leader in Gartner's Magic Quadrant for Process Mining Platforms for three consecutive years and, more recently, for Process Intelligence Platforms and for Digital Twin of the Organization platforms. The product is offered as SaaS on AWS or Microsoft Azure, as a private cloud deployment, or on-premise, and ARIS publishes SOC 2, ISO 27001, ISO 27017 and ISO 27018 certifications, among others, through its Trust Center.
