Best Integration Platforms (iPaaS) for Dynamics 365

Updated July 2026 · By the ERP Research Editorial Team · Independent and vendor-neutral — no vendor pays for placement or ranking.

Integration platforms connect Dynamics 365 to the rest of your application estate with managed connectors, data mapping, orchestration and error handling. Microsoft's own Power Automate and Azure Logic Apps are the natural first options and are frequently already licensed; independent iPaaS platforms compete on high-volume data integration, complex transformation and neutrality across a multi-vendor estate.

Dynamics customers start this category with an advantage and a trap. The advantage is that Power Automate is probably already licensed and handles a large share of everyday integration well. The trap is assuming it handles all of it — Power Automate is built for event-driven workflow automation, not high-volume batch data movement, and organisations discover the difference when a nightly sync of a hundred thousand records times out.

So the real question is not which iPaaS, but which tier of Microsoft's own stack, and whether an independent platform is warranted at all. The vendors below matter most when integration is an estate-wide concern outliving any single ERP, or when transformation complexity exceeds what low-code flows express cleanly.

Where do Power Automate and Azure Logic Apps fit?

Power Automate handles event-driven flows well — approvals, notifications, record sync between Microsoft applications — and is included in most Dynamics licensing, making it the correct starting point. Azure Logic Apps is the more capable enterprise sibling for higher-volume, more complex orchestration with better monitoring and error handling. Between them they cover a substantial share of Dynamics integration need. Independent platforms earn their place with high-volume data integration, complex many-to-many transformation, pre-built connectors to systems Microsoft has no interest in, and a deliberate architectural choice not to depend on one application vendor for enterprise plumbing.

What does iPaaS cost?

Most vendors in this category price by quote, so there is no honest list price to quote you. Here is what actually drives your number — and how to get a real one.

  • Data volumerows synced, storage consumed or compute used — usage-metered rather than seat-based (3 of 4 vendors here).

Popular iPaaS comparisons

How to choose Dynamics 365 integration platform

  1. 1

Write down your requirements before any demo

List the specific iPaaS outcomes you need — volumes, workflows, countries, systems in the loop — and rank them. Vendor demos are optimised to reframe your requirements around their strengths; a written list keeps the evaluation yours.

  2. 2

Verify Dynamics 365 integration depth, not existence

Every vendor here “integrates with Dynamics 365” — the differences are in depth. Ask each to demo the integration against a realistic Dynamics 365 configuration: your entity structure, your fields, your transaction volumes, and what happens when a sync fails.

  3. 3

    Check certification and marketplace status

Look for Microsoft AppSource listing / ISV certification and a current listing on Microsoft AppSource. Certification doesn't guarantee fit, but it confirms the vendor keeps pace with Dynamics 365 releases — uncertified integrations are where upgrade breakage concentrates.

  4. 4

Reference-check companies that look like yours

Ask for two reference customers on Dynamics 365 at your size and in your industry, and ask them what broke in the first year. Implementation quality varies more than product quality in the iPaaS category.

  5. 5

Model total cost over three years

Compare subscription plus implementation plus internal effort — not headline price. Dynamics 365 integration platform pricing models differ (per user, per volume, per entity), so normalise every quote to your actual usage before comparing.

Frequently asked questions

Is Power Automate enough?

For approvals, notifications and light record synchronisation, usually yes, and it is already paid for. It struggles with high-volume batch movement, complex transformation logic, and integrations needing guaranteed delivery with sophisticated retry and error handling. The honest test is what happens when a flow fails at 2am: if nobody would know until a user complains, you have outgrown it regardless of volume.

When should you buy an independent iPaaS?

When integration is an enterprise capability rather than a Dynamics concern — many systems, many teams, and a deliberate decision not to couple your integration layer to one application vendor. Also when you already run a platform successfully for other systems, since adding a second iPaaS to serve Dynamics alone is the duplication worth avoiding. Consolidation usually beats best-of-breed in this category.

Does F&O versus Business Central change the answer?

Somewhat. F&O exposes Dataverse and OData with well-developed connectors across every platform listed. Business Central has its own API and AL extension model, and connector maturity varies more between vendors. If you run BC, verify the connector is a maintained product with reference customers rather than a generic REST connection someone configured once — that distinction predicts your maintenance burden.
