Overview

Exterro is a data risk management platform that unifies privacy compliance, eDiscovery, digital forensics and legal governance, risk and compliance (GRC) under one common data layer. The privacy product line covers data inventory and mapping, Records of Processing Activities (RoPA), privacy impact assessments, data subject rights (DSAR) handling, consent and preference management, and automated data retention scheduling.

At the center of the platform is Exterro OptiX360, a data discovery and cataloging layer that connects to more than 190 enterprise systems to continuously identify what personal data is processed, where it resides and why. That inventory feeds the DSAR, RoPA, assessment and consent modules so they stay synchronized with the underlying data rather than relying on static, manually maintained spreadsheets. Exterro also maintains a regulatory citation library covering more than 300,000 citations across 300-plus jurisdictions to drive its retention scheduling.

Founded in 2008 and headquartered in Portland, Oregon, Exterro serves financial services, healthcare, energy, technology, government and legal customers, and reports that roughly half of the Fortune 100 use its combined eDiscovery, forensics and data governance products.
