Overview
SAP Audit Management is a native internal audit application from SAP, available both for classic SAP ERP / GRC landscapes and as SAP Audit Management for SAP S/4HANA. It is part of the SAP Assurance and Compliance software family and is built to support an end-to-end internal audit process: building the audit universe, planning and scoping audits, preparing and executing fieldwork, documenting findings, forming an audit opinion, communicating results, and following up on remediation.
The application organizes work around a flexible, multi-dimensional audit universe of auditable entities (business units, functions, departments) that can be linked to risk and control data already held in SAP Risk Management and SAP Process Control, so auditors can see prior audit history and current risk ratings before scoping a review. Fieldwork is supported through working paper management with drag-and-drop document creation, single-click access to supporting evidence, and a management review workflow. During execution, auditors create findings and propose action plans, and the application tracks issues globally through to closure.
SAP positions the product as fully mobile-enabled, letting auditors work across multiple devices, and built on SAP HANA in-memory technology for real-time audit analytics. Because it shares data with the broader SAP GRC applications rather than requiring separate master data, it also integrates with SAP Business Integrity Screening for fraud-related audit triggers.
