Overview

Lattice is a cloud-based people management platform focused on performance management, goal-setting and employee engagement. Founded in 2015 by Jack Altman and Eric Koslow, it grew out of tools the founders built at their prior startup to run internal performance reviews, and has since expanded into a modular suite spanning Performance, Goals & OKRs, Engagement, Compensation and Grow (career development), plus a native HRIS launched in 2023.

The platform centers on performance review cycles (annual, quarterly, or project-based), continuous "habits" such as 1:1s, weekly updates and real-time feedback, and cascading OKRs that tie individual and team goals to company objectives. Engagement surveys (pulse, eNPS, onboarding/exit) feed AI-generated theme analysis and manager action plans, and results can be benchmarked against Mercer industry data. The Compensation module layers pay bands, budget management and pay-for-performance analytics on top of the same performance data, and Grow adds competency frameworks and individual development plans. Lattice has embedded AI throughout the suite, including AI-drafted review write-ups grounded in a manager's own 1:1, feedback and goals data, AI-summarized survey themes, and an AI Agent for HR policy questions.

Lattice reports serving 5,000+ organizations, from sub-100-employee startups to enterprises with 1,000+ employees, and integrates with HRIS/payroll systems including Workday, ADP, BambooHR, UKG and Rippling to keep employee records in sync, plus Slack, Microsoft Teams, Jira and Salesforce for workflow and data connections.
