Overview

ServiceNow Field Service Management (FSM) is part of the ServiceNow Now Platform and provides an AI-driven orchestration layer for field operations, connecting the moment a customer raises an issue to its resolution by a technician in the field. It is built on top of ServiceNow's broader IT and customer service workflow suite, so field work orders can originate from Customer Service Management (CSM) cases, IT Service Management (ITSM) incidents, or other Now Platform workflows and be dispatched to technicians without leaving the platform.

The product covers intelligent scheduling and dispatch (matching work orders to technicians by skill, location, availability and parts on hand), a mobile app for technicians with AI-generated guidance, remote visual assistance and augmented reality support, contractor management for outsourced field work, parts/inventory tracking, and predictive intelligence that can trigger maintenance work orders proactively rather than reactively.

Because ServiceNow is workflow middleware rather than a system of record for financials, inventory valuation or manufacturing, it connects to ERP systems for the back-office data (parts costing, inventory levels, invoicing, purchasing, warranty/contract data) via its Integration Hub, which ships prebuilt "spokes" (connectors) for SAP (ECC and S/4HANA, via RFC, IDOC, OData, or the SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud spoke) and REST/SOAP-based integrations for Oracle and Microsoft Dynamics.

Alternatives to ServiceNow Field Service Management in Field Service

ServiceNow Field Service Management — frequently asked questions

Does ServiceNow Field Service Management integrate with SAP?

Yes. ServiceNow's Integration Hub includes prebuilt spokes for SAP ECC (RFC and IDOC) and SAP S/4HANA (RFC, IDOC, OData, and a Public Cloud spoke) that exchange back-office data such as inventory, invoices and goods receipts with field work orders.

How much does ServiceNow Field Service Management cost?

ServiceNow does not publish list pricing for FSM. It is sold on a quote basis, priced according to the modules selected and the number of users or technicians, so buyers need to request a quote directly from ServiceNow or a partner.

Can ServiceNow FSM connect to Microsoft Dynamics or Oracle ERP?

Yes. ServiceNow connects to Microsoft Dynamics and Oracle applications through REST/SOAP-based integrations built with Integration Hub, allowing field work orders to exchange data with those ERP systems.

Is ServiceNow Field Service Management a standalone product?

It runs on the same Now Platform as ServiceNow's IT Service Management and Customer Service Management products, so work orders can be created directly from IT incidents or customer service cases rather than requiring a separate system.
