Overview
Oracle Field Service (formerly Oracle Field Service Cloud) is a cloud application for scheduling, routing, and equipping mobile workers who complete service activities at a customer's home, office, or an installed asset location. It is part of Oracle's Customer Experience (CX) suite and is built to work alongside Oracle Fusion Service, Oracle CRM, and back-office ERP systems.
The product organises capability into modules covering forecasting, capacity management, routing, core management (dispatch console), mobility, smart location, field collaboration, and customer communication. Oracle embeds AI throughout scheduling and routing: forecasting workload, matching technician skill/location/priority to jobs, optimising routes, and rebalancing schedules in real time when jobs are delayed, cancelled, or added urgently.
Oracle's strategic direction has moved toward Oracle Fusion Field Service, which is built natively inside the Oracle Fusion Applications suite (sharing identity and data model with Fusion ERP, SCM, and CX) rather than the older standalone Field Service Cloud SKU, which Oracle has said will not be offered for new implementations. Field Service can also be integrated with non-Oracle ERP and CRM systems, both cloud and on-premises, via REST APIs and Oracle Integration.
