Overview
Cashbook is finance-automation software for accounts receivable and accounts payable processes -- cash application, collections, deductions, accounts payable and bank reconciliation -- aimed at large, multi-entity organizations running high transaction volumes across multiple ERPs, banks and countries. The company was founded in 1992 as Software Architects International, was renamed SAI New Technologies after a 2002 management buyout, and rebranded as Cashbook in 2015; it is dual-headquartered in Limerick, Ireland and Naperville, Illinois.
The platform is organized around five modules: cash application (auto-matching customer remittances against open invoices from lockbox, EDI, PDF, web-portal and email channels), collections management (a centralized hub with automated dunning letters and payment forecasting), deductions management (root-cause classification and dispute workflow for revenue recovery), accounts payable automation (global payment-file creation across ACH, BACS, SEPA and ISO 20022 with approval workflows), and bank reconciliation (rules-based matching of bank statements against ERP general-ledger data). Cashbook states it automates more than 95% of cash application transactions and more than 85% of deductions.
Cashbook positions itself as the connective layer between banks and a range of ERP systems, with particular depth in legacy and niche platforms -- Infor BPCS/LX, MAPICS/XA and M3, Oracle JD Edwards, Sun Systems and TIMS -- alongside SAP (S/4HANA, ECC 6.0), Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations, NetSuite and Sage 200. It reports serving more than 100 organizations, including several Fortune 1,000 companies, across 25+ countries, and deploys on-premise or in a private cloud rather than as multi-tenant SaaS.

Strengths & considerations
Strengths
- Deep, long-standing integration expertise with legacy and niche ERPs (Infor BPCS/LX, MAPICS/XA, M3, Sun Systems, TIMS, JD Edwards World) that many modern AR/treasury platforms don't support
- One platform spanning cash application, collections, deductions, AP and bank reconciliation rather than a single point solution
- 30+ year operating history (founded 1992 as Software Architects International, rebranded Cashbook in 2015) with long customer tenures
- Direct data partnership with Cforia since 2008 for cash-application and deductions functionality
- In-house banking-format team that builds new bank formats in 3-4 days, with 200+ formats already built
Considerations
- No out-of-the-box AR/cash-application automation for Sage clients; available only via custom build
- Deploys on-premise or in a private cloud rather than as a modern multi-tenant public SaaS
