Overview

Pigment is a cloud-based business planning platform (connected planning / EPM software) aimed at FP&A, sales, HR and supply-chain teams that need to move planning off spreadsheets. It was founded in 2019 in Paris by Eleonore Crespo and Romain Niccoli and is used primarily by mid-market and enterprise finance organizations.

The platform's technical core is what the vendor calls the Graphite Engine, described as supporting large data volumes, real-time recalculation and flexible modeling without rebuilding underlying structures when business logic changes. On top of that Pigment ships FP&A capabilities including budgeting, rolling forecasts, financial consolidation, three-statement (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow) reporting, scenario/what-if modeling, headcount planning and OPEX/CAPEX planning, alongside adjacent modules for sales, RevOps, HR/workforce and supply-chain planning on the same underlying data model. In 2025 Pigment began adding agentic AI on top of this: a Modeler Agent that turns natural-language requests into governed planning models, and an Analyst Agent that monitors performance and flags anomalies; a Planner Agent for scenario simulation is listed by the vendor as upcoming.

Pigment connects to source-of-truth systems through native connectors for SAP, NetSuite and Sage Intacct. Salesforce, Workday, and several data-warehouse/BI integrations (Snowflake, BigQuery, Databricks, Azure SQL, Looker) are listed on the vendor's own integrations page but marked "On the Roadmap" rather than shipped. Pigment reports customers including Unilever, Siemens, Danone, Figma, Carta and Uber, and cites a Forrester Consulting study (vendor-commissioned) finding a 306% average three-year ROI.

  • Bringing SAP, NetSuite or Sage Intacct GL data into a single planning model instead of exporting to spreadsheets
  • Sales capacity and territory/quota planning alongside the finance plan on the same platform
  • Using an AI agent to build or modify a planning model from a natural-language request rather than manual formula-building
