Overview
Datarails is an Excel-native FP&A platform, marketed under the name FinanceOS, built for finance teams that want to keep working in spreadsheets while gaining a governed, automated data layer underneath. It consolidates financial data from more than 600 documented sources -- ERPs, CRMs, HRIS platforms, banks, billing systems and other spreadsheets -- into a single model, then layers live dashboards, planning workflows and AI-generated analysis on top without requiring users to leave Excel.
The core FinanceOS platform handles multi-entity consolidation, FX conversion, intercompany eliminations and allocations, with role-based access, version control and data lineage intended to keep the underlying figures auditable. On top of that, Datarails FP&A adds budgeting and collection workflows (templates, rollups, approvals and sign-off tracking), scenario planning, and AI-generated summaries, storyboards and anomaly flags via its Datarails AI Agents. A FinanceOS AI Connector exposes the same governed data to third-party AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude and Copilot, with permissions and audit trails carried over.
Beyond the core FP&A product, Datarails sells three additional modules that can be added individually: Month-End Close (reconciliation, close checklists and audit trails), Cash (bank visibility, cash flow forecasting and scenario analysis), and Spend Control (contract tracking, AI-driven contract data extraction, and renewal/duplicate-subscription alerts). The company reports serving 2,000+ companies across industries including retail, construction, healthcare, manufacturing, non-profit, financial services, hospitality, technology and logistics.

Pricing
Full Datarails pricing breakdown — cost at 25/100/500 seats, competitor rates & FAQs
Datarails starts at roughly $24,000 a year, with reported licence fees from about $400 a month for a single user rising to around $3,500 a month for ten. Its positioning is Excel-native FP&A: finance teams keep their existing spreadsheets and Datarails consolidates and version-controls them, which shortens implementation dramatically against model-rebuild platforms like Anaplan. All-in year one for SMB and startup buyers commonly lands between $10,000 and $125,000 depending on scope. Get an independent shortlist with pricing guidance below.
