Overview
NetSuite Planning and Budgeting is a financial planning and analysis (FP&A) module built natively into NetSuite ERP, part of NetSuite Enterprise Performance Management (EPM), a family that also includes Account Reconciliation, Financial Close Management and Consolidation, Narrative Reporting, Corporate Tax Reporting, and Profitability and Cost Management Reporting. NetSuite states the EPM suite is built from the Oracle Fusion Cloud EPM solution and integrates directly into NetSuite so planning always reflects current financial and operational data from the general ledger, rather than data exported into spreadsheets.
The module automates company-wide and departmental budgeting and forecasting through prebuilt templates and workflows, supports scenario/what-if modeling across dimensions such as product, customer or location, and includes a dedicated workforce planning capability for headcount and compensation. Embedded AI and machine learning features -- multivariate prediction and Predictive Planning -- analyze multiple business drivers together, surface anomalies and trends, and generate AI-written narrative commentary explaining why forecast numbers changed. Smart View extends the environment into Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Google Sheets for offline modeling and formula work that stays in sync with the underlying planning data.
Because it is a NetSuite module rather than a standalone product, it requires an existing NetSuite ERP subscription; it is not sold or usable independently of NetSuite.
