roll-outs per year
Challenge: Autoneum, a 13,000-employee manufacturer of acoustic and thermal regulation components for vehicles with 55 production sites, set a target of realising around 85% of its turnover on SAP by 2030. Reaching that goal required transferring its main business processes onto the SAP platform while keeping day-to-day development and support demands covered as its internal SAP competence center handed over AMS-related tasks.

SAP S/4HANA4
roll-outs per year
Solution: Autoneum engaged delaware for application management services (AMS) alongside implementation of a VIM (vendor invoice management) solution, with delaware flexing on-shore and off-shore resources according to need. delaware also brought FAST-Automotive, its preconfigured, SAP-qualified ERP solution based on SAP S/4HANA incorporating automotive-market best practices across logistics, labelling, EDI and production. Automotive industry knowledge meant Autoneum did not need to explain typical industrial processes to the deployed consultants.
Results: Working with delaware, Autoneum met its development needs flexibly with four roll-outs a year, allowing its internal SAP competence center to transfer AMS-related tasks according to need and enabling faster process improvement. Autoneum describes delaware as a trusted partner helping it refine its SAP solutions as it works toward realising close to 85% of turnover on SAP by 2030.
“With Delaware we were able meet our development needs in a flexible way, with four roll-outs a year, allowing our internal SAP competence center to transfer its AMS-related tasks according to need. This also meant we could quickly improve our processes. Delaware is now a trusted partner helping us…”Original case study ↗

Challenge: Belgian waffle producer Biscuiterie Thijs, with over 600 employees and five production plants, was still running outdated systems in 2019 that made scalability difficult and efficiency gains hard to realise. Manual processes clogged accounts payable, integration across locations was lacking, and reliance on custom-built tools risked future viability. The goal was to consolidate, simplify, standardise and scale.

production plants integrated
Solution: delaware, engaged as long-term strategic partner since 2019, implemented SAP S/4HANA tailored for food industry complexity, replacing the fragmented legacy setup with a centralised ERP across five plants and 31 production lines. SAP Enterprise Warehouse Management (EWM) added structure, traceability and logistics efficiency to the supply chain, and SAP Vendor Invoice Management (VIM) with delaware's FAST VIM template automated ingestion, validation and routing of PO and non-PO invoices.
Results: All five production plants and 31 production lines run on SAP S/4HANA, and a new acquisition was integrated in under three months. Accounting processes invoices with far less manual input, production and logistics have real-time stock insights across the five sites, and management reporting is faster and more accurate. Company turnover rose from around €80M at project kick-off in 2019 to €240M.
“We didn't just gain efficiency. We've become a more professional organization, with better insights, faster decisions, and systems we can build on. That's the kind of sustainability that matters most to me.”Original case study ↗

Challenge: GKN Aerospace, a 17,000-employee aerospace and defence components manufacturer operating 51 manufacturing sites across 15 countries, had been shaped by numerous mergers and acquisitions, leaving its HR IT landscape fragmented across singular legacy systems largely disconnected from central management. Following a change in ownership, the company had to exit group-provided HR systems within a short timescale, leaving HR directors without a simple way to gain insight into employee performance across multiple sites.

Solution: GKN Aerospace selected SAP SuccessFactors as a single self-service hub with one global set of HR tools and processes, implementing the Employee Central, Performance Management and Recruitment modules in phase 1. delaware ran an iterative design process with GKN Aerospace's global HR teams, supplementing user acceptance training and process guides with intensive on-site workshops in which HR business partners and key stakeholders tested scenarios and processes, feeding business-driven change impact assessments, user training and process mapping.
Results: The project was delivered on time and on budget after a five-month sprint and rolled out globally to 15 countries in 10 languages. 80% of key users were using SAP SuccessFactors within the first month. The system, hosted on a new platform named Wilbur, now sits at the heart of GKN Aerospace's connected IT landscape; self-service functionality lets employees manage their own development, while improved data and reporting give managers and senior HR staff greater visibility into performance and satisfaction levels.
“I was looking for a partner not just in technology terms but also on the change adoption and process side, helping us create a world-class HR systems environment.”Original case study ↗

Challenge: When INEOS acquired the Aromatics and Acetyls business units from BP in 2021, the units had to be fully separated from the former owner's IT systems and services, including an SAP carve-out. More than 150 applications had to be migrated across 10 locations in three time zones with multiple third-party stakeholders, and to avoid the high cost of renewing a term agreement with the previous owner, the whole programme had to complete in just 12 months. INEOS' in-house IT department did not have the resources to handle the project alone.

Solution: INEOS engaged delaware for project and portfolio management of the SAP carve-out. delaware created the environment and resources within Microsoft Azure — consolidating the previous mixed AWS/Azure hosting onto Azure in line with INEOS' cloud-first strategy — and facilitated the migration and integration of applications, including re-installing, copying, setting up and supporting Microsoft, SAP and OpenText applications, while coordinating with third parties on application and data transfers. Post-implementation, delaware provides managed services with a service coordinator in each of the three main time zones.
Results: The carve-out and new IT landscape were completed in just short of 11 months, beating the 12-month deadline, and well within budget. Over 1,900 users across 10 locations were transitioned, with more than 150 applications migrated. delaware's managed services team now provides functional and technical support across three time zones as an extension of INEOS' in-house IT team, and INEOS is preparing a move to SAP S/4HANA, with business process reviews and system preparations already scheduled at the time of publication.

Challenge: After acquiring the BASF and Clariant leather chemical divisions, Dutch chemicals company Stahl had to process as many as 28,000 supplier invoices a year. Invoices arrived by mail, and even digitally received invoices were printed and processed manually; headcount for the manual process kept rising while efficiency fell. Operating across many countries with differing regulations and VAT numbers made full automation difficult.

Solution: Stahl selected SAP Invoice Management and chose delaware as implementation partner for its international experience, fast implementation method and Fast Invoice Template, which is based on best practices drawn from over 100 customers worldwide. The system went live within three months and within budget, first at the Waalwijk location, with a rollout planned to all Stahl locations.
Results: Stahl now receives 95% of invoices digitally and saved 1 FTE. The process is faster, more transparent and 100% digital, with real-time invoice status, automatic stops on quantity discrepancies, return-to-vendor functionality for incomplete invoices, clearer reporting and better internal control. More than 2,000 employees are set to use the new approach as it rolls out.

Challenge: Allnex, the global leader in coating resins with 35 production sites, 25 R&D centres, some 4,000 employees and turnover in excess of two billion euro, needed to modernise its ageing SAP ERP system to support international expansion that culminated in the 2015 integration of competitor Nuplex. Beyond the technical upgrade, the company needed to standardise and optimise operational processes to meet the growing requirements of international customers in a consolidating market.

countries in initial deployment
Solution: Allnex engaged delaware to migrate all its production to a state-of-the-art version of SAP between October 2015 and June 2016, in a project driven jointly by IT and the business. The two-year programme included a major change management component and was run from the group's Brussels site, with Belgium as the pilot country for a deployment covering 5 countries in its initial phase and some 2,500 users directly impacted.
Results: Allnex used the migration to initiate continuous improvement of its internal processes and data. Efficiency gains include faster tracing of a product's origin and accelerated customs formalities, and the company has increased visibility into all its data. Greater standardisation of internal processes and progress in compliance management have made the business more agile in serving customers and more flexible in making acquisitions.
