Overview

Tamr is an AI-native master data management (MDM) platform that unifies, cleans, and enriches enterprise data to produce trusted "golden records" for customers, suppliers, and products. Founded in 2013 in Cambridge, Massachusetts, Tamr grew out of research by Turing Award-winning MIT computer scientist Michael Stonebraker and entrepreneur Andy Palmer, applying machine learning-based entity resolution rather than purely rules-based matching to identify and merge duplicate or fragmented records across systems.

The platform is aimed at data and analytics teams inside large organizations who need a single source of truth for master data that spans CRMs, ERPs, and cloud data platforms. Tamr applies AI/ML matching models, augmented by human and agentic curation, to clean, match, and merge records from systems such as Salesforce, SAP, Oracle, and Microsoft Dynamics into unified golden records, and can push updates back to those systems in real time.

Tamr RealTime exposes this mastered data through event-driven, API-first connectivity (including search-before-create fuzzy-match APIs and webhook notifications), letting operational systems query and receive golden-record updates without batch delays. Tamr also runs natively inside major cloud data platforms: it ships a Snowflake Native App (Tamr Smart Curation) integrated with Snowflake Streams for change data capture, and is built on Google Cloud technologies (BigQuery, Dataproc, Bigtable, Cloud Run) for large-scale mastering, and lists Databricks, AWS, and Azure among its supported cloud environments.
