Overview

Katana Cloud Manufacturing (also known as Katana MRP) is a cloud-based inventory and manufacturing platform built for small and mid-sized product businesses that make and sell physical goods. It combines live inventory management, multi-channel order management, manufacturing/MRP, purchasing, and warehousing in one system, positioning itself as an easier-to-adopt alternative to traditional ERP for manufacturers who have outgrown spreadsheets.

On the manufacturing side, Katana lets businesses build bills of materials, define production operations, and schedule and track work orders, with real-time updates to material availability, costs, and production status. Its Shop Floor App gives operators a task-level view of what to make next and lets them log progress from the production floor, while batch and serial tracking support traceability from raw material to finished, shipped product.

Because Katana is not a full financial ERP, it is designed to sit alongside accounting software: it connects natively to QuickBooks Online and Xero to push invoices and bills, and integrates with e-commerce channels (Shopify, Amazon, WooCommerce, BigCommerce) and other tools via its own native integrations, verified partner apps, Zapier, and an open API. For NetSuite and similar ERPs, connectivity is available through third-party integration platforms (e.g., Extensiv) rather than a Katana-built native connector.
