Overview

Visual Lease is a lease management and accounting platform used by finance, real estate, legal and IT teams to centralize lease data and automate compliance reporting. It supports both lease administration (tracking key dates, renewals, obligations, and documents across real estate and equipment portfolios) and lease accounting (calculating right-of-use assets and lease liabilities, generating journal entries, and producing disclosures) under ASC 842, IFRS 16, and GASB 87/96.

The platform is aimed primarily at mid-market and large enterprises with complex, multi-department lease portfolios spanning real estate, fleet and equipment leases. It offers AI-assisted lease abstraction (built on CoStar's Lease LLM) to extract key terms from lease documents, sustainability/ESG reporting for leased and owned assets, and workflow controls for approvals and audit trails.

Visual Lease connects to ERP and financial systems through prebuilt connectors, APIs, flat-file exports and SFTP transfers, exporting lease journal entries, amortization schedules and lease metadata into the GL to support period-end close. Visual Lease was acquired by CoStar Group in November 2024 and reports more than 1,500 customer organizations managing over 500,000 leased assets globally.
