BillingPlatform RevRec

BillingPlatform RevRec is the revenue recognition capability of BillingPlatform's cloud revenue lifecycle platform. Rather than operating as a standalone subledger, it embeds ASC 606 and IFRS 15 compliance logic directly into the billing and invoicing workflow, generating revenue schedules and journal entries from billing events. It is aimed at companies with subscription, usage-based, and hybrid monetization models that need to allocate and recognize revenue across multiple performance obligations within a single contract.

The product uses a rule-based engine to schedule recognition and produce journal entries automatically, handling point-in-time, over-time (ratable), milestone-based, and event-driven recognition. It supports standalone selling price (SSP) determination and revenue allocation across bundled deals, automated processing of contract modifications, and generation of waterfall and rollforward reports with trial balance and general ledger integration for audit support. Because recognition runs off the same data as billing, the vendor positions it as eliminating separate batch reconciliation between billing and the revenue subledger.

BillingPlatform is ERP-agnostic and integrates with major financial systems through REST APIs and prebuilt connectors, pushing recognized revenue and AR subledger entries into NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, and Workday. The platform targets mid-market and enterprise finance teams and supports multi-entity, multi-currency operations. RevRec is sold as part of the broader BillingPlatform suite rather than as an independently licensed module, so prospective buyers should scope it alongside the platform's billing and revenue management capabilities.
