Overview

Medius is a cloud-based spend management and accounts payable automation platform that sits on top of a company's existing ERP rather than replacing it. The suite spans the full purchase-to-pay cycle: sourcing and contract management upstream, procurement and requisition controls in the middle, and invoice capture, matching, approval, and payment automation downstream. AI is used to extract invoice data, code and route invoices, flag exceptions, and detect fraud and risk on transactions, with the stated goal of reaching a high touchless-processing rate where only exceptions need human review.

The platform is built to be ERP-agnostic. Medius maintains fully managed, pre-packaged connectors to leading ERPs (SAP, Oracle NetSuite, Oracle Fusion, Microsoft Dynamics, Infor, and others) so that master data and accounting data flow between the ERP and Medius without custom integration work. For systems without a packaged connector, Medius exposes a REST API and an iPaaS layer for custom and file-based integrations. This positioning makes it a common choice for finance teams that want modern AP and procurement workflows without migrating off their system of record.

Medius targets mid-market and enterprise finance, AP, and procurement teams across industries such as manufacturing, distribution, retail, construction, and food and beverage. The company reports thousands of customers across roughly 100 countries. Adjacent modules cover supplier onboarding and performance management, employee expense management with virtual and physical cards, and analytics dashboards for spend visibility. Buyers should note that pricing is quote-based and that the breadth of the suite means scoping and implementation typically run several weeks.
