Overview
Vanguard Predictive Planning was the flagship product of Vanguard Software Corporation, a Cary, North Carolina-based supply chain planning vendor founded in 1995. Wolters Kluwer Tax & Accounting acquired Vanguard Software for approximately $110 million in cash in May 2021 and folded its AI-driven forecasting and integrated business planning technology into the CCH Tagetik financial performance management platform. The product now ships as CCH Tagetik Supply Chain Planning, sold as demand planning, supply planning, production planning and sales & operations planning (S&OP) modules built on the same underlying engine.
The platform uses probabilistic and AI/machine-learning models to generate demand forecasts, then balances those forecasts against supply and production capacity, including multi-echelon inventory optimisation (MEIO) and MRP automation. Because it runs on the CCH Tagetik CPM suite, supply chain plans can be connected directly to financial planning, close and consolidation processes within the same environment, rather than through a separate integration layer. Wolters Kluwer markets it to manufacturing, CPG, automotive, fashion, retail, pharmaceutical, and food and beverage companies, spanning Fortune 500 to mid-market organisations.
A prebuilt, native SAP HANA / S/4HANA connector gives real-time data access and drill-through into SAP source data without a separate ETL process, and the platform also integrates with SAP ECC and SAP BW environments. It can be deployed in the cloud or on-premises.
